Environment

We aim to bring awareness to important environment related issues. We believe one of the most urgent environmental issues facing us is the problem of ocean plastic.

Ocean Plastic

Ocean Plastic Related Videos:

Huge amounts of plastic are released into the ocean every day. These not only marine life, birds, and other animals, but people also.

Over years the plastic in the ocean breaks apart into small particles called microplastics.

Microplastics can be contained in certain fish, which are then eaten by people. People's bodies from various parts of the world have been found to contain microplastics in their bodies.

It is believed a significant part of the plastic in the ocean comes from rivers, where there is not proper waste management, and large amounts of plastic flow from these rivers into the ocean.

It makes sense that solutions that reduce the greatest sources of plastics that enter the ocean will have the greatest effect, as the use of plastic rises exponentially each year.

One such way is to reduce the plastic is at the the most polluted rivers, so that the plastic doesn't enter the ocean. Proper waste management, as well as plastic clearing systems could reduce the plastic these rivers bring into the ocean each year.

Ocean Plastic Related Companies

There are some companies that have built solutions that are combatting ocean plastic pollution, one such company is the Ocean Cleanup.
